What We Believe

  • PRIORITIES

We love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ and anticipate His return!.

  • GOD’S WRITTEN WORD

We believe the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament Scripture, is God’s written Word. The Bible alone is verbally inspired by God, without any error in the original text, and is of supreme and final authority in faith, behavior, and life.

  • GOD

We believe in one God who is Creator of heaven and earth, who is infinite Spirit, light, love, and truth; eternal, almighty, infallible in all things, including His foreknowledge of all future events as well as all free choices; that He is unchangeable, all wise, just, and holy; and that the triune God eternally exists in one essence and three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • CREATION

We believe in the special creation of the entire space–time universe and of every basic form of life in the Genesis creation record. We also believe in the historicity of the biblical record, including the special creation of Adam and Eve as the literal progenitors of all people, the literal fall and resultant divine curse on the creation.

  • THE SPIRIT WORLD

The holy angels are personal spirit beings who glorify God, serve Him, and minister to His people. Satan is a personal spiritual being, a being of great cunning and power, who is “the prince and the power of the air,” “the prince of this world,” and “the god of this age.” He was created by God but fell through sin. He, along with other evil spirits, is the enemy of God and humanity and can exert vast power but only as far as God permits him to do so. Satan has been officially defeated by the work of Christ at the cross and is subject to God’s authority and shall ultimately be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone and shall be tormented day and night forever.

  • THE HUMAN RACE

God created man and woman in His image and likeness and designed them for perfect loving relationship with Him. We believe that the first people God created, Adam and Eve, fell by disobeying God; and as a consequence, became dead in their trespasses and sins and became subject to the power of the devil. We also believe that this spiritual death, eternal separation and punishment from God, has been transmitted to the entire human race.

  • JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God and Eternal Word manifested in the flesh. We believe that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and that He is true God and true man, having two distinct natures co–joined in one Person.Jesus entered human history as the promised Messiah and Savior of the world and that He lived a pure, sinless life in perfect submission to God the Father. He died on a cross for the sins of man and then three days later He rose bodily from the grave. After being seen alive by many witnesses, He ascended to heaven where He currently sits alive and well as Lord of all at the right hand of God the Father.

  • THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, regenerates, indwells, baptizes, seals, and sets believers apart to a holy life. He indwells all believers, empowers them to love, serve, witness and obey God, equips them with gifts, and transforms them to be increasingly like Christ.

  • THE FATHER

The Father is Spirit and cannot be seen. He sent His only Son Jesus Christ into the world and He draws people and gives believers to His son. Believers are to be baptized in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is said to be in heaven receiving prayer offered to the Him.

  • SALVATION

The Gospel literally means Good News. It is good news about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. There is nothing more powerful, necessary, or urgent than the Gospel!

In his letter to the church of Corinth, Paul reminds the Corinthians about the Gospel:

“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you-unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received:” 1 Corinthians 15:1-2

Paul then delivers the Gospel in creedal form. According to many New Testament Scholars, verses 3-5 date to just a few years after Jesus death, which means that it’s one of the earliest Christian creeds memorized by the early church.

“…that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-5

Christ’s sacrificial death, in which He bore the punishment due to sinners, is the only and all-sufficient basis of God’s provision of salvation for all people of every culture and age, expressing His love and satisfying His justice. We believe that only those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior on the condition of faith alone, apart from all good works, are thereby born again of the Holy Spirit, forgiven of all sin, are justified once and for all, and have become children of God.

  • THE CHURCH

The Holy universal Church is composed of everyone in the world who through faith in Jesus Christ, have been born again by the Holy Spirit. The Church is expressed locally through communities of believers called and empowered by God to worship, fellowship, instruct Holy Scriptures, serve, evangelize, contend for the Truth, make disciples of all nations, and to celebrate baptism and communion. It is the responsibility and privilege of all who are saved to seek, share, and reflect the Gospel to the “uttermost part of the earth”. The church seeks to live a holy life separated from all that might dishonor God.

  • THE FUTURE

We believe in the personal, imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones. He will visibly return to the earth in glory and accomplish the final triumph over evil. God will make a new heaven and earth. The dead will be raised and judged. Unbelievers will suffer eternal conscious punishment while eternally separated from God in a real place called Hell. All Christians will enter into a life of eternal joy in fellowship with God in a real place called Heaven.

To God be the glorify forever.
